SRMIST aspires to be one of the best private universities in the world by the year 2025. SRMIST is a deemed to be university, established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and has a main campus at Kattankulathur and other campuses are Ramapuram, Vadaplani, and Trichy at Chennai. The Delhi-NCR campus was established in the year 1997 and houses over 5,000 students, over 200 faculties, and a plethora of visiting faculty from across industries.
