My Services

I am the head of Baker & McKenzie's Tokyo IPIT Group which includes three partners and seven associates. My group advises and assists both multi-national companies on their Japanese IP and IT law issues, and Japanese companies with their overseas IP and IT law issues. I personally also focus on Intellectual Property (IP) and Information Technology (IT) law. I have been practising IP and IT law since 1999. I am a bilingual lawyer in English and Japanese. I am qualified in England and Wales, and am registered as a foreign attorney in Japan. Specialties: Intellectual Property - Copyright, Trade Marks, Designs, Unfair Competition and passing-off. Information Technology - large scale IT outsourcing deals including SaaS and cloud based, software licensing, advising on IT related agreements, data protection issues, procurement law issues, open source issues, escrow and assisting clients with their legal disputes. I also advise on multi-jurisdiction social media issues.
